Do I need to replace my current software?+
No. The Forge is designed to sit beside the specialized systems your business already depends on — payroll, accounting, POS, industry-specific tools — and to consolidate the redundant ones on your timeline, not on day one.
Which integrations are available today?+
On Pro, connect your own QuickBooks Online company to import customers and invoices without writing back. Confirm the import with your company before relying on it. Other entries have their own availability and setup limits; a vendor name or technical interface does not mean a working connection is supplied.
What is the difference between native, configurable, and custom integrations?+
Built-in tools run within Forge. A connection uses the other provider’s supported interface and requires account setup. Custom connections require an assessment and separate implementation; they are not ready merely because the provider is listed.
Can The Forge connect with a system that is not listed?+
Often yes, if the system provides a documented API, webhooks, secure database access, scheduled exports, or a structured file exchange. Every custom integration goes through an assessment that evaluates business value, technical feasibility, provider restrictions, data sensitivity, and long-term supportability. Some connections are declined when the risk or provider constraints make them unwise.
Which system keeps the official record?+
Choose where each kind of record is kept. If you keep an external accounting platform, its books remain there; native Pro ledger tools are a separate bookkeeping choice requiring review. Payroll processing and regulated specialist records stay with those providers. QuickBooks imports customer and invoice records into Forge, not the other way around.
How are integrations kept honest — how do I know something isn't going to break silently?+
For a supported connection, review what information moves, in which direction, and how to check import history or errors. QuickBooks imports show their history and can be rolled back. Monitoring and error handling vary by connection; do not assume every problem is detected before your team sees it.
What happens if an integration fails?+
Review the failed action and import history before retrying. The supported QuickBooks import avoids duplicates when unchanged records are imported again, and its runs can be rolled back. Other connections need their own retry and error-handling review; no universal no-loss guarantee is made.
Can I revoke access?+
Yes. Every connection is revocable by the customer. Revocation stops outbound writes immediately; inbound data respects the source system's own access controls. Data can be exported before or after revocation.
How is customer data handled across connected systems?+
Access to synchronized information respects each person's role, department, business, and location — not just "you're logged in." Sensitive fields (SSN, bank routing, protected health records, regulated policy fields) are not read unless the specific scope is contractually required and explicitly opted in.
Are third-party provider costs included?+
No. Third-party subscriptions, API usage charges, and provider platform fees remain the customer's cost with the third party. The Forge itemizes those costs separately when they run through us and never hides them inside a general integration price.
How long does an integration take to configure?+
Configurable integrations against well-documented providers usually complete inside a Blueprint + Launch cycle. Advanced integrations with multiple objects or two-way sync are scoped separately. Custom integrations against undocumented or limited providers are scoped with an explicit timeline before work begins.
How are integrations priced?+
Confirm the supported connection and its setup scope before buying. Do not assume the optional paid Blueprint or a software subscription includes every integration. Custom work needs an agreed quote; provider subscriptions and usage charges remain separate.
Can outbound actions require human approval?+
Yes. Sensitive outbound writes — issuing a refund, sending a payroll batch, cancelling a policy — can be gated on explicit human approval. Approval requirements are configured per action, not per integration, so the safest default applies where it matters and workflow speed is preserved where it doesn't.
What happens when an external provider changes its API?+
Provider changes can affect a connection. Confirm the supported version, maintenance responsibility and recovery steps for the connection you use; this guide does not guarantee advance detection or uninterrupted service.
Does The Forge replace payroll, accounting, or industry systems?+
Keep the specialist systems you need. Forge can handle invoices and day-to-day financial tracking; Pro also includes native ledger tools. Review those tools with your bookkeeper before deciding how to keep the books. They do not prove tax-ready accounting or replace payroll processing, tax filing or regulated specialist systems.
